Cobb/Douglas County Services Board

The Cobb County Community Services Board and the Douglas County Community Services Board are public agencies created by state law to provide mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services. The service areas are Cobb County and Douglas County, Georgia. The agency provided support to over 14,000 people in 2004. The majority of funds utilized to provide services are generated through a contract with the State of Georgia, Medicaid and Medicare revenue, Cobb County, Douglas County, Vocational Rehabilitation, grants, and private pay. The Stabilization Unit is a short term residential program to provide brief treatment for psychiatric problems and detoxification from drugs and alcohol. The goal of the Stabilization Unit is to get consumers to a stable condition medically and psychologically and to assist them through their crisis situation. A focus of treatment is referral and linkage to programs in mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse.

Children and Adolescents:

Cobb/Douglas County CSB is pleased to offer a program for children and adolescents called Next Steps. The Next Steps program provides a comprehensive array of mental health and substance abuse services for children and adolescents. Services are child centered and family focused with an emphasis on individualized and accessible treatment for young people and their families. We accept Medicaid, PeachCare, or other Insurance and can also make other financial arrangements using a self-pay sliding fee scale. For services, call 770-422-0202 and ask for NEXT STEPS.
